SUMMARY:2017 Pelican Plunge at The Boardwalk
DESCRIPTION:The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is hosting its Inaugural Pelican Plunge on Okaloosa Island on Sunday\, January 1\, 2017. Participants will take an invigorating dip into the Gulf of Mexico in support of the Emerald Coast Foundation. \nParticipants will be freezin’ for a reason\, with the $20 participation fee benefiting the Emerald Coast Foundation\, a charitable foundation that works with children’s charities such as ARC of the Emerald Coast\, All Sports Association\, Children in Crisis\, and the Eleanor Johnson Youth Center to fund their causes. The first 100 registrants will receive an exclusive Pelican Plunge long-sleeved shirt. \nThe Crab Trap will be open at 10:00 AM and offer drink specials for those who may need some liquid courage before the plunge. Pre-registration will begin at 10:30 AM at the common area below The Crab Trap and the official splash into the Gulf of Mexico will take place at 11:30 AM. A post-plunge party will also take place at The Crab Trap and include hot-cocoa\, coffee\, and 99¢ gumbo.
